One Nation ABC
Derby’s biggest & best amateur boxing club.
Founded in 1998 by Boxer Clifton Mitchell, Derby Boxing Club “One Nation” was formed after many years of experience, as an opportunity to give something back to the local community. A chance to pass on those skills and techniques to youngsters & adults interested in getting fit and the sport itself.
“It’s all about discipline, hard work and belonging”
Already the Amateur Boxing Club has nurtured champions; Sue Ennersley has won two ABA’s already, Sandy Ryan won Silver for England in the European Juniors a Zaihid Maqsood winning a National title. Thomas Molloy recently picked up the East Midlands ABA Champion belt at 57kg too while Female ABA 67kg champion, Jessica Poxon retains her title and Jack Dexter also secured a middleweight belt in 2013. The training and and rewards that you can achieve, is ultimately dependant on how much you want to put in, but there’s always a qualified Amateur Coach on hand to offer advice and support. It’s no wonder we’re Derby’s number 1 boxing club.
Here at One Nation, we have the latest exercise and gym equipment available to all our members.
Our main feature is our full size boxing ring, which is available for sparring. We also have a fully equipped Gym, which features bikes, steppers, rowers and punch bags. The gym also features soft-matting throughout. There are communal changing rooms, one for the boys, one for the girls, both equipped with showers. When you’re finished training, there’s a drinks machine with various energy drinks available, and we are currently looking into providing a range of protein snacks & healthy bites.
